| 2004 |
Deep true red youthful colour. Intense brambly red fruit starting to open up with nice white pepper and spices. Attractive rich palate with complex fruit and fine, firm tannins. Long elegant finish. More subtle than other vintages. Ready now, but will gain more complexity with time, to 2015. |

Dark red, youthful colour. Developing very slowly. Very complex nose that’s difficult to describe. Lovely pure fine fruit with integrated spiciness. Sleek palate. Satin textured already, but firm, with a long life ahead. Complex and persistent flavours through to a long finish. Drink 2009 to 2015. |

Medium deep youthful red colour not showing much age. Attractive almost jelly baby like fruit and berry nose. Alcohol showing a little. Leesy nose, lacking definition. Thick rather muddy texture and finish lacking elegance. Drinking well now with some complexity developing, but clearly the weakest vintage to date. Drink now to 2012. |

| 2001 |
Deep bright youthful colour. Quite subdued nose. Pure fruit with spicy complexity. Evolves nicely in the glass. Nice acidity adds to elegance on the spicy dry palate with a lot of pure fruit behind a long finish. Drink now to 2013. |

Deep colour only showing a little age. Sweetish nose of dense fruit and some vanilla. Very intense and youthful in flavour. Surprisingly vibrant palate. Sweetness starting to subdue on palate. As fruit starts to fade on the palate, it should become more of a food wine with a more complex nose. (In its youth this was probably the biggest showy-ist wine we’ve produced yet – mostly the function of the vintage) Drink now to 2012. |

Cape Winemakers Guild Auction wine. Deep red colour with slight tawny edge. Bit reduced and stinky at first. Blows off quite quickly to show complex blackberry and gamey flavours. The most Rhône-like vintage to date. Firm velvety texture. Drink now to 2012. |

| 1998 |
Colour showing a tawny mature edge. Complex maturation aromas of undergrowth, roasted stones and plummy evolved berries. Satin textured palate. Perfect now. Thick and utterly delicious. Although the wine is very big, the flavours are subtle and complex. Drink now to 2010. |
